The first event on the itinerary was the Ping Pong Challenge. Every student who’s used chopsticks before knows that it’s difficult - and this activity was specifically crafted to make this task even more challenging. If you thought that eating sushi with chopsticks was hard, try picking ping pong balls up from a bucket of water!
Even though it initially seemed impossible, all the houses caught up and outstandingly completed this challenge. Although they faced their fair share of obstacles (the number of ping pong balls that were centimetres away from their target was disheartening), the Ping Pong Challenge was most definitely one of the students’ favourites!
Afterwards, Target Throw began! This was no easy feat - even for students with spectacular upper body strength. No matter how strong a few students seemed to be, the bean bags never hit their targets! Yet, after a long process of trial and error and advice passing down the chain of students, all the houses began getting the hang of it. This was certainly a blink and you’ll miss it moment: one second, students were struggling with the task and the next, they were enjoying themselves and perfectly landing every single one of their shots.
After this event was completed, the houses moved to Speed Bounces. This activity was certainly difficult, yet all students persevered and showcased spectacular results. In fact, there were multiple students that completed seventy speed bounces in only thirty seconds!
With the carefully curated events and incredible house spirit, day 3 of the Olympic Week was a grand success. In Shraddha Pratapa’s (the Venus Deputy House Captain) words, “this entire day was amazing! I am so proud of all the students who participated in the activities and helped their houses gain points. This never would’ve been a success without the unending cooperation from the students’ side and I want to thank everybody who partook in the Olympic Week!”
